Frequently asked questions
Only in your browser. Every vehicle, fuel fill-up, service record, reminder and setting lives in chrome.storage.local on your device — nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
No. Garagely is free and works the moment you install it, with no sign-up, login or cloud service.
Garagely uses the accurate full-to-full method: the fuel that takes you from one full fill-up to the next, divided by the distance between them. Mark a fill partial when you don't fill all the way — it rolls into the next full fill. Mark a fill missed if you forgot to log an earlier one, and Garagely skips that interval so a gap never skews your average.
Yes. Set a vehicle's fuel type to Electric and log kWh and cost per charge; efficiency shows as mi/kWh or kWh/100. Hybrids and diesels are supported too, and you can mix units (miles/km, US gal/UK gal/litres) in Settings.
Add a reminder with an interval by distance (e.g. every 5,000 mi), by time (e.g. every 6 months), or both. Garagely compares it against the vehicle's latest odometer and the date to flag it as overdue, due soon, or fine. Turn on the daily check in Settings to also get a desktop notification, and a badge on the toolbar shows how many items need attention.
Yes — open Settings → Your data and export a JSON backup (or fuel/service CSV files), then Import the JSON on the other computer.
storage keeps your vehicles and logs on your device; alarms and notifications power the optional reminder; sidePanel shows the at-a-glance garage; commands registers optional keyboard shortcuts. The single host permission (factory-chrome-extensions.vercel.app) is used only to fetch the Support-button display-config and sends no personal data.
