Right-click any price on a web page to convert it to your home currency — only the text you select is read, never the page you are on. Robust comma/dot/space number handling fixes the wrong-decimal and "NaN" bugs that plague other converters, and customizable decimals and separators make every result look exactly how you expect.
Most currency converters are stuffed with ads, demand broad permissions, or quietly track the pages you visit. RateVault does none of that — your conversions, pinned currencies and settings stay in your browser. It works offline with a built-in rate snapshot and refreshes automatically in the background, fetching only public exchange-rate numbers and never any personal data.

Privacy
Why each permission is needed
RateVault asks for the minimum and explains every one.
storageSaves your settings, pinned currencies, recent conversions and a local rate cache via chrome.storage.local on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
alarmsSchedules an automatic background refresh of public exchange rates (every 12 hours by default).
contextMenusAdds the right-click “Convert selection” item so you can convert a price on any page. Only the text you select is used; RateVault does not read page contents.
notificationsShows the result of a right-click conversion as a browser notification.
sidePanelShows the always-on Rate Board in Chrome's side panel beside any tab.
