No. Pixnook is completely free to use with no sign-up. There's no login, ever.
storage saves your settings and presets locally; sidePanel powers the quick-optimize panel; commands enables the keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+I to open the popup, Alt+Shift+K to open the Studio). A single host permission for factory-chrome-extensions.vercel.app is used only to fetch a small "show these buttons?" display config — no personal data or images are sent.
Pixnook reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, and outputs JPG, PNG or WebP. You can resize by dimensions, percentage, longest edge or social preset; compress by quality or to a target file size; batch many images at once; rename with patterns; preview before/after; and download individually or as a single ZIP.
Yes. Because Pixnook re-encodes images through a canvas, EXIF/GPS and other embedded metadata are dropped from the output — a nice privacy bonus when you share photos online.
