No. Shelfmark works the moment you install it, with no sign-up, login or cloud service.
Yes. Export your Goodreads library to CSV, then open Settings → "Import CSV / Goodreads." Shelfmark detects the Goodreads format automatically and maps your shelves, ratings, page counts and dates. Shelfmark's own CSV exports import the same way.
storage keeps your books and settings on your device; sidePanel shows the live reading-session timer; commands registers the optional keyboard shortcuts. The single host permission (the Extension Factory site) is used only to fetch the Support-button display-config and sends no personal data.
Logging a reading session (or updating your current page) records the day, which builds your streak and fills the heatmap. Set a yearly goal by books or pages in Settings, and the Stats tab shows your progress ring for the year.
